Fashion Design Students Leather Workshop Bangkok | De Bloo Studio Collaboration

This had to be one of our best group workshops this year. Thirty-two fashion design students from FASH SWU CCI came to learn leather craftsmanship at De Bloo Studio in Sukhumvit 29, Bangkok, sponsored by the “Real Leather. Stay Different.” initiative. It was such an honor to teach these future fashion designers and introduce them to leather as a long-lasting material for accessories.

Because this was a special group of fashion students, we tailored the leather name tag workshop to focus on both technique and understanding the making process. Instead of simply stitching pre-punched pieces, our lead artisan Vicky gave a thorough demonstration on how to mark and punch stitching holes using a French pricking iron, explaining how spacing and consistency affect the final look. Each table had dedicated teachers guiding students through saddle stitching step by step, followed by a fun session of painting the leather edges for a clean, professional finish.

By the end, every student left with a personalized leather name tag, complete with their name stamped on top and edges painted by hand. The studio was full of concentration, conversation, and laughter—and a lot of photos of freshly finished tags.
